Information we collect
We do not sell or share personal information, and apart from the Movyra Pro license records described below, we do not collect or store it. The apps have no sign-in and contain no advertising or tracking code, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
We never receive your prompts, uploads, projects, voice recordings or videos.
Anonymous usage counts. To learn which features people use and where Movyra fails, the apps can send short usage events to our server: which screen or feature was opened, which generation mode and aspect ratio were chosen, whether a generation or export finished or failed (with a short error code, never the error text), how long it took, the app version, the platform and system version, and the app’s language. Each event carries a random install identifier created by the app and a random session identifier. They are not linked to your name, email, Apple Account, advertising identifier or device identifier, and we never combine them with other data to identify you. Our server notes only the country your connection comes from, not your IP address. The events are deleted automatically after about 13 months.
Turning it off. Switch off Share anonymous usage data in the app’s Settings. The app then stops sending, deletes any events it had not sent yet, and deletes its install identifier.
Information that stays on your device
To make your videos, Movyra works with:
- ideas and scripts you type or speak;
- logos, screenshots, images, audio and video you add;
- projects, narration, captions and exported videos;
- AI models and voices you download;
- your settings and preferences.
All of this is stored in the app’s storage on your device, or in folders you choose. It is processed on your device, including all AI generation. On iPhone and iPad it may be included in your device backups according to your own iCloud or computer backup settings, which Apple governs.
When the apps connect to the internet
- Movyra Pro purchase checks (App Store apps). The apps ask the App Store whether your Apple Account owns Movyra Pro, the purchase that removes the watermark, so they know whether to add it. Apple handles this; we receive no name, email or payment details.
- Model and voice downloads. When you download an on-device AI model or voice, the app requests the file from its publisher, for example Hugging Face or GitHub. Those servers receive the technical details every download needs, such as your IP address. None of your project content is sent. The desktop app also asks those publishers for current download sizes.
- Links you import (iPhone and iPad). When you add a website or App Store link, the app loads that page from its website, or from Apple for App Store links, so it can read it. Only the link you entered is requested.
- Speech input (iPhone and iPad). When you speak your idea, Movyra uses Apple’s speech recognition on your device where your language supports it. If on-device recognition isn’t available and you turn on online recognition, your recording is sent to Apple to be transcribed, under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Online voices (computer, optional). Voices labeled “Online” come from third-party services such as Microsoft Edge neural voices, Microsoft Azure Speech and JSON2Video. Narration text is sent to one of these services only when an online voice is used: when you pick one, or when you have stored your own Azure Speech or JSON2Video key and automatic voice selection prefers it. That service’s own privacy policy applies. Local voices never send your text anywhere, and keys you store stay in your system’s keychain (on Windows, in a file encrypted for your user account).
- Online drawings, pictures and research (computer). Some ways to create look things up for you. Line Stories search open icon sets through Iconify for the things a story names, and send Arabic or French words to the MyMemory translation service so they can be searched in English. Visual Stories search Wikimedia Commons and Openverse for photos of your topic, and Pexels, Unsplash or Pixabay too if you add your own key. Gathering facts for a lesson reads Wikipedia, Hacker News and GDELT, and current trends for a video’s posts, when you ask for them, come from Wikipedia and GDELT. Only the search words or the topic are sent, never your project, and each service’s own privacy policy applies.
- Movyra Pro license checks (apps downloaded from this website). If you activate a license code, the app contacts our server to activate, renew and deactivate it. See “Movyra Pro license codes” below.
Movyra Pro license codes
This section applies only if you buy Movyra Pro outside the App Store, for the apps downloaded from this website.
Buying. You pay with PayPal or a bank transfer and send us the receipt on WhatsApp, and we reply with your license code. To issue and support the license we keep your name and, if you give them, your email address and order reference; the amount, currency and date of the payment; and notes about your license. PayPal, your bank and WhatsApp handle the payment and your messages under their own privacy policies.
Activating. The app sends our server (www.movyra.app) the code, the kind of system (Windows, macOS or Linux), the app version and a device ID. The device ID is a one-way, salted hash of the identifier your operating system keeps for the computer: it can’t be turned back into that identifier or matched with the same computer anywhere else. No IP address, MAC address, serial number, user name or hardware details are read. We keep the device ID, the system and the dates of activation and renewals, so the license works on one computer at a time.
Renewing and moving. The app renews the license online about once a month and contacts our server when you deactivate it. We store only a hash of your code and its last four characters, never the full code. To stop people guessing codes, failed activations are counted with a salted hash of the IP address, which is deleted after 24 hours.
Keeping it. We keep license and payment records while your license exists, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Contact us to see or correct them.
Permissions
Movyra asks only for what a feature needs, when you first use it:
- Microphone (iPhone and iPad): used only while you speak a video idea.
- Speech recognition (iPhone and iPad): used to turn what you say into a written prompt.
- Photo library, add only (iPhone and iPad): used to save the videos you export. Movyra can’t browse your photo library; it receives only the photos and videos you pick.
- Files and folders (computer): Movyra opens only the files and folders you choose.
You can change these permissions at any time in Settings on iPhone and iPad, or in your computer’s system settings.
Movyra Publisher (browser extension)
Movyra Publisher is an optional extension for Chrome and other Chromium browsers that helps you share videos from your computer, or from Movyra for Mac. Local videos can be shared without the desktop app. Connecting to Movyra requires the Mac app on the same computer. Nothing it handles is sent to us, or to anyone other than the platform you choose to post to.
- What it reads. On the pages of the platforms you publish to (YouTube Studio, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest), it reads the page to find the upload and text fields and the name of the signed-in account, so you can see where a post will go. It reads no other website. Of the tabs it opens itself, it notices only whether one went to the platform’s sign-in page.
- What it fills in. It adds your video and fills in the title, description and tags from the text you provide or approve in Movyra. It never presses the final Post or Publish button: you review the post and publish it yourself.
- Your video. A video from Movyra moves to the extension over a private connection inside your Mac (127.0.0.1), through a single-use link that expires after five minutes. A video you choose from your computer is kept in the extension’s IndexedDB storage in this browser. When you start preparing posts, the video is uploaded only to the platforms you selected; you still press their final Post or Publish buttons yourself.
- Connecting to the app. The extension talks to Movyra through the browser’s native messaging. Pairing creates a device identifier and a secret key, kept in the extension’s local storage and in your Mac’s keychain.
- What it keeps. Settings, pairing details, descriptions and post progress are kept locally in this browser. Remove pairing and local data resets the connection and settings but keeps videos you added and their post history. Use Remove on a local video’s card to delete that video and its history; the original file on your computer stays. Removing the extension deletes its browser storage.
The extension never asks for, reads or stores your social-media passwords or cookies; it uses the sessions already signed in to your browser. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and it loads no code from the internet. Its use of information is limited to publishing your videos: it is never sold, used for advertising or to determine creditworthiness, transferred to anyone else, or read by people, in line with the Chrome Web Store’s Limited Use requirements.
Apple and the App Store
Downloads, the Movyra Pro purchase, payments and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us aggregated crash reports and usage statistics that don’t identify you. We use them only to fix problems and improve Movyra.
This website
This website sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and loads no third-party trackers or fonts. To see which parts of the page are useful, it counts visits with our own first-party measurement: the sections and buttons you reach, how far you scroll, how long the page is open, the site that linked you here and any campaign tag in the link, and coarse details such as country, device type, browser and operating system. We count a visitor with a one-way code made from the connection and browser that changes every day, so we cannot recognize you on another day, and we never store your IP address or full browser details. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the page sends nothing. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver and protect the site.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because your data lives on your device, you control it. Delete a project, or remove downloaded models and voices, from inside the app. Deleting the app removes the data stored in its storage. Files you saved to your own folders or to Photos stay until you delete them.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them once they are no longer needed.
Movyra Pro license and payment records are kept as described in “Movyra Pro license codes”.
Children
Movyra is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act may give you the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Unless you bought a Movyra Pro license code from us, the apps don’t send us personal data and we usually hold nothing about you, but you can contact us with any request and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
If Movyra starts handling information differently, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page before the change reaches the apps.
